Haberfield Hotel, located in the historic Haberfield, is the new jewel of the inner west. With 67 thoughtfully designed rooms, including standard, superior, and deluxe options, this hotel has something for everyone. Spread across three stories, guests have a two-level basement carpark, café, bar, gym, and swimming pool - everything they need for both business and leisure stays.
The hotel’s exterior features powder-coated aluminium blades on the façade, carefully designed to reflect the character of the surrounding red brick residences. This architectural approach harmonises with the heritage of Haberfield. A sculptural frame surrounds the hotel’s restaurant and entertainment spaces, defining the main corner, while a fine-grained terracotta façade wraps the upper levels, where the rooms are located. The terracotta façade contrasts with the bold corner design, echoing the colours and rhythms of traditional roof tiles in the neighbouring conservation area.
Natural daylight floods the open corridors and dining areas through thoughtfully integrated voids, bridges, and skylights. Extensive landscaping, including green roofs, softens the building’s appearance and enhances its connection with the surrounding public space and nearby residences. Nature not only provides tranquility but also creates a calming visual experience for hotel guests.
Orwell collaborated closely with the community throughout this project, engaging with nearby residents to create a space that everyone can enjoy. The project was completed in August 2024 and the hotel has been fully booked ever since!
